  1. Choose a home for Multima

    Install in a folder you can write to. The launcher keeps its Client and Characters folders together there.

  2. Name your character profile

    Use exactly the name you will enter in game. Import an existing player.dat into the matching profile if you already have a character.

  3. Enter Britannia

    The launcher checks the published client files and restores the selected profile before starting the game. Create your new character and set its password in the client.

  4. Keep the launcher open

    Let it back up your character data while you play and after you close the game. Open Start.exe next time to check for launcher updates.

A few things to know.

Do I register an account on this website?

No. Create your profile in the launcher and your character in the game. The website does not collect your game password.

What happens to player.dat?

The launcher keeps character profiles and local backup versions separate from the working client folder. With the release service configured, it also uploads backups to the shard’s private backup service. Keep a separate copy of your important backups, too.

Can I use more than one character?

Yes. Close the game before switching profiles. Give each profile the exact name of its character.

Is permadeath permanent for the shard?

No. It belongs to the temporary Awakening event. Ghost deaths return when the evil is dispelled. Check the community’s rules before playing.
